The Rail Blue Years
The most followed period in ‘modern rail’ is what is known as the ‘Rail Blue’ era, covering the years from 1966 to the late 1980s, when most locomotives were finished in blue, with a yellow warning end and black underframe. Following the demise of steam, many established railway photographers hung up their cameras but Norman E. Preedy seized the chance to capture this fascinating period.
Half a generation later, the Rail Blue years have become the inspiration for countless modellers and much of that inspiration has been triggered by images taken through Norman’s lens.
This eagerly anticipated 132 page publication offers a detailed review of the trains of the period, through more than 300 high quality photographic images. SOFTBACK
